Karma better pay me back for this one

WARNING!!!! There will be venting below!

Soooo..... Monday, my grandfather, with whom I'm very close (I lived with my grandparents from age 3 till 8th grade), went in to have a pacemaker put in. This is good. He needed it. What is not good is that after the surgery, his lungs filled with fluid so he was basically suffocating. It was so bad that when I would talk to my mother on the phone (they're all in Dallas) I could hear him trying to breathe in the background.  Yeah, no good. So, you know, there's a little stress there.

My back has been hurting so bad that I've been taking muscle relaxers and vicodin to deal with it. More telling, I actually went to the doctor about it.

Tuesday I had a midterm due so I stayed up all night Monday night writing the midterm. It was crap. Lets just be real. On my way home from class, some bitch T-boned me in my car. Lovely. It was her fault which, ya know, makes it less expensive, but not easier to deal with. She damaged both passenger doors and the front door is so fucked that there is a crack from the bottom all the way to the handle. Now, my car is a 1993 Saturn so pretty much a little bumper damage would total the car, so I'm thinking there's really no hope there. Whatevs.

So that night I laid down on some icepacks to help my already fucked back and to help prevent the inevitable whiplash and fell asleep with my contacts in. OMG. When I woke up I couldn't open my eyes. I had to pry my eyelids open and peel off my contacts. My eyes where BLOOD RED. I couldn't open them and the burning was so bad that I just was crying. Which you would think would help with the eyes, but not so much.

Unfortunately, I had a meeting/conference Wednesday off-campus that my advisor had to drive me to. My eyes were watering through the whole meeting. It was so embarrassing. The people were really nice and my advisor told them I was in an accident so they were really understanding but still, ya know?

Wednesday night Javi and I fought for a while till his phone died. I feel asleep because I had a meeting/conference the next morning at 8am. I woke up at 6am to find 2 messages from Javi, my ride to the conference. Turns out his car broke down after his phone died. I had to take a cab to the conference. Fun.

That night I stayed up all night AGAIN because I had another midterm due Friday. Brilliant. The insurance company, Geico, still hadn't gotten back to me. They're douches. So I called them. They said they could tow my car that day to assess the damages. I had to fight with the lady about whether or not the car was drivable. It ended in me telling her that I wasn't a mechanic, nor were her "notes" so no qualified individual had been able to assess the drivability of my car so I would be getting a rental car THAT DAY. She sounded a bit scared. I think steam might have transferred through the phone.

I have a rental car, they still haven't towed my car and it's past 5 on Monday. I need to find a new car to buy, but I'm a grad student, so, ya know. AND I'm having to miss/reschedule/inconvenience my book club which is sad AND my vision is still blurred AND my back hurts like a bitch.

I think I'm done venting. Javi's car works now, grandpa is home and sounds better than he has for months, and I haven't murdered anyone. Happy friggin' spring break and here's to the most drunkenest St. Patty's Day of my life!
