I'M ENGAGED!

So, Friday afternoon I had plans with my friend Milena to go to a preview of Bad Teacher at the Alamo Drafthouse- Ritz downtown on 6th St.  We were running late so we valet parked at the Driskill Hotel and hustled to the theater.  On the way my shoes broke.  We got to the theater and there was a sign for the preview and everything.

When we walked into the theater, it was really dark.  We sat down and the waitress came and took our order.  They were playing old clips from *Nsync and There's Something About Mary.  Then the "Watch Don't Talk" cartoon came on where a pickle and pretzel rock out and tell you to not talk and turn your cell phones off or they'll eat your torso.  Then on the screen I saw "Caelie and Javi" and I heard a Mumford & Sons song.  There was a slideshow of pictures of us throughout the years.

When the slideshow ended the waitress came out and told me to go to the front of the theater.  When the lights came on I could see that the people in the audience were all friends.
I went to the front and Javi came in.

I don't really remember what he said.  It's all a little fuzzy, but he said some very sweet things and then he got down on one knee and pulled out a gorgeous ring.

We hugged and then I could here something going on on the screen.  My friend Jasmine in New York couldn't make it so she recorded a video for us.

Javi also had messages from a few other friends and when I turned around, the waitress had come out with champagne.  We all shared a toast and then Javi surprised me and said that we would be watching one of our favorite movies, Once.

After the movie, we went to the Driskill to have some drinks.  It was such a lovely night and I can't believe how spoiled I am!  Javi planned the whole thing from Houston!
