Fundraising Update
Wow, I can't even express how overwhelmed and humbled I have been to see all the support flooding in. In less than a week, I raised $740 which is about 32%. Can you believe that? I was so taken aback. So many people have been supportive to my mother during this time and continued to show their support. In addition, people who have never met my mother donated because they knew it was important to me. I just felt so loved during this week!Training Update
I have to admit that registering for 3-Day was not completely altruistic. I have also been wanting to get back in shape and to incorporate physical activity into my daily life. I think 3-Day will be a good incentive and motivator to achieve this.Friday, Feb. 25th
Before I registered for 3-Day, I thought it would be a good idea to do a bit of a trial run. So around noon on a gorgeous Austin day, I walked/jogged about 5 miles in an hour. I was so excited and surprised by my ability that I went home and registered.
Saturday, Feb. 26th
I was pleasantly surprised when I woke up that I could walk and that my legs didn't feel like cement. Javi and I went for a bike ride around Austin. We went to a coffee shop near campus to study, went to the HEB to drop off a red box, and then toured our neighborhood a bit. For dinner, we biked about a mile and a half over to the nearest Chipotle, stuffed ourselves, and biked home. So far so good.
It goes downhill from here.
I rode my bike to school and back (about 3.5 miles) on Monday. I walked to and from School on Tuesday. Then I was really busy and stressed and slacked off for the rest of the week! I'm hoping to get it together a bit more this week!
Thanks for all the love and support!
