I've started grad school. I like it a lot, but I'm still adjusting to the changes. There's a lot of reading, but I honestly enjoy discussions and class time. I've discovered that there are still stupid people in grad school. It's possible I'm one of them, but I've noticed that with the open discussion style in grad school, they are easily spotted. Let me clarify what I mean when I say stupid people. There are people that like to make comments a lot and think that they are God's gift to the Earth. Here's the thing. I'm paying tuition to learn from the professor. The professor has a shit ton of degrees and experience. You don't. So sit down and shut up. If you have a comment that you need to share, make it short and sweet and don't assume that you're better that anyone else in the classroom, especially the professor.
Little venting there, good times. I'm also working in a research lab and temporarily have a lot more responsibility than was expected. It is taking up a good deal of time, but I really like it. The work is usually interesting and is at least fun and new for right now.
Javi is doing well in law school. I'm very proud of him because I think all his hard work BEFORE law school is starting to pay off. I hope it continues this way. I wish I had his discipline.
My knee has been hurting. I think I'm getting old.
My stepdad's grandmother and uncle both just died. They were both really cool people and will be missed. I'm sad about it, but mostly worried about the boys. They're young and that's a lot to swallow in a short period of time.
I love my apartment and I love my roommate so things are going well on that front. I got a new laptop that is very pretty so I'm trying to get used to that. I'm going to try to be better about posting, but don't hold your breath.
You are a rockstar.
ReplyDeleteI will perform knee surgery for you on you.
Go Javi!
I am sorry to hear about your recent losses.
I am glad you are happier in your living space.
I <3 you.
